Task 6 | MONITORING AND ASSESSING PUBLIC/ STAKEHOLDER PARTICIPATION

Task 6 deals with the evaluation of the participatory process implemented in the case studies.

Sub-task 6.1 | Baseline information on previous participatory experiences

This sub-task aims to collect previous participatory experiences of the stakeholders, through the implementation of a survey.

Sub-task 6.2 / Evaluate process design, immediate outputs and impacts

The impacts of the participatory process will be evaluated in several phases, using questionnaires, randomly selected face-to-face interviews, and a stakeholder’s reflection activity. The immediate outputs will be assessed after each participatory activity through questionnaires applied to participants. In order to get some insights on the long-term impact of participation, the final participatory event will include a self-reflection activity for people who has been engaged in the project, in order to discuss what are the tangible and intangible impacts already emerging and the ones that are expected in the coming years.

Sub-task 6.3 | Lessons learned

Besides including the lessons learned from the evaluation of the participatory process in the handbook, these lessons will contribute to feed into the state-of-art about public/stakeholder participation impacts, as well as to inspire future facilitators while planning their participatory activities.

Expected results

Contribution to the state-of-the art on impacts of public participation in environmental governance and to the participatory practice
