Task 4 | APPROACHES AND METHODS FOR PARTICIPATORY FOREST MANAGEMENT
Task 4 aims to define the structure, methods and tools of a participatory process to discuss and design the Matas do Litoral future after 2017’s wildfires.
Sub-Task 4.1 | Review of methods and tools for participatory forest management
The main objective of this task is the identification of approaches and methods already available for public/ stakeholder engagement in forest management around the world. A documental review on participatory approaches will be carried out, providing a source of learning with participatory experiences held in other countries.
Sub-Task 4.2 | Analysis of participatory activities in the Matas do Litoral territory
This task concerns the understanding of past and current experiences of participatory involvement of stakeholders in the Matas do Litoral decisions. For this assessment, the manager entity will be consulted in order to get all information about their experience on stakeholder engagement activities.
Sub-Task 4.3 | Design of a participatory process
This task concerns the definition of the approach, methods, tools, resources and timing of stakeholder engagement activities in ShareFOREST project. The participatory activities will be organized at local level involving the ShareFOREST stakeholder platform and the local communities.
